Celest Lotter Nirenstein is a children’s book author, illustrator and contemporary artist based in Cape Town. She is the creator of the much-loved Cheesecake series, including Cheesecake Eats the World shortlisted for the Otto Award.

Her stories are known for their imagination, heart and humour, and her illustrations bring each character to life with colour and personality. Alongside her books, Celest creates original artworks and bespoke illustrations that reflect her playful visual style.
